Chapter 13 is often called the love chapter. Where the King James Version says "charity", most modern translations say "love"; the word means generous, self-giving love, not only giving money. "Suffereth long" means is patient. Paul wrote these lines to a church that was arguing over who was most important, and he described love as patient, kind, not proud, not jealous. The passage is read at many weddings, and it also works well with children: talk about what patient and kind look like at home, with brothers, sisters and friends.
