About this coloring page
Genesis 1:1 is the first verse of the Bible: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" in the King James Version. This Bible verse coloring page sets the whole verse in bubble letters inside a frame with stars and planets in the corners, fitting for a verse about the start of everything.
It opens the account of creation in Genesis chapter 1, which goes on to describe light, sky, land, plants, sun, moon and stars, animals and people, day by day. As a first verse for children, it introduces the whole story of the Bible from its first words. Sunday school classes often pair it with a seven-day creation craft. While coloring, talk about the things in the sky and on the earth your child loves most, and use the planets in the corners as a starting point.
