About this coloring page
Zero is the number for none. This number 0 coloring page shows a large 0 to color and the word zero in bubble letters, and the counting box underneath is empty on purpose. Instead of shapes it says "Zero means none! Draw an empty plate here", which turns an abstract idea into something a child can picture: a plate after every last crumb is eaten.
Talk about zero with things around you. How many elephants are in the kitchen? Zero. How many cookies are left in an empty jar? Zero. Zero also matters in bigger numbers: in 10 and 20 it holds the ones place so the 1 and 2 can stand for tens. To write 0, start at the top and go around to the left in one tall oval, closing it where you began. Keep it taller and narrower than the letter O if your child is learning both.
