About this coloring page
Matthew 5:14 reads "Ye are the light of the world" in the King James Version. This Bible verse coloring page has those six words in big bubble letters inside a rounded frame, with a star in each corner and the reference beneath. "Ye" is older English for "you all".
Jesus spoke these words in the Sermon on the Mount, talking to the crowd and his followers. He goes on to say that a city on a hill cannot be hidden and that nobody lights a lamp to hide it under a basket. A couple of verses later he explains the point: let your good works be seen so that others give glory to God. For children, the message is that kindness and good actions shine. The page is a good fit for a candle or lantern craft in Sunday school.
