About this coloring page
John 3:16 is one of the most widely quoted verses in the Bible. This Bible verse coloring page shows its opening words in the King James Version, "For God so loved the world", with the reference beneath, inside a rounded frame decorated with hearts.
In the Gospel of John, these words come in a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus, a religious leader who came to him at night with questions. The full verse goes on to speak of God giving his only Son so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. The opening line on this page focuses on the size of that love: it reaches the whole world. Children can learn the short opening first and the rest of the verse later. The page is popular for Sunday school, Valentine crafts in church groups, and memory verse charts.
