Z is a buzzing sound, like a bee: "zzz". The teeth come close together as for S, but the voice is on. It starts zebra, zoo, zipper, zero and zigzag. Z is the last letter of the alphabet and one of the least used in English words. Capital Z is three straight strokes: a line across the top, a slant from the top right down to the bottom left, and a line across the bottom. Lowercase z is the same shape made smaller. Children sometimes flip the slant, so say "across, down to the left, across" while tracing. A zebra's black and white stripes are a little different on every zebra.
